Lando Norris is off to a dream start to the 2021 season. The young Briton has already scored his first podium of the year and is currently third in the driver standings. Yet he expects McLaren to have lesser races now and then.

A fourth, third and fifth place in the first three races means Norris has 37 points in the driver standings. With that, he leaves his experienced teammate Daniel Ricciardo far behind. During the press conference in Spain Norris said that 2021 will be his best season so far.

Norris remains realistic

The McLaren driver hopes to keep up the good form. "But that won't be easy," he is quoted as saying by Motorsport-Total.com. "It won't be a surprise when we're a bit more towards the back every now and then."

"Sometimes an eighth position on a good weekend is the most that is possible," Norris said. Still, he will continue to try and take chances so he can finish on the podium again, just like in Imola.
