The Portuguese Grand Prix is just around the corner and with it the third round in the title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Despite the good starting position, the Dutchman does not want to put extra pressure on his team.

Verstappen and Hamilton battled for victory in the first two races of 2021. Formula 1 has been dominated by Mercedes and Hamilton in recent years, but finally, Red Bull Racing can pose a real threat. It's no surprise then that everyone is looking forward to this duel again ahead of the weekend.

Verstappen not dreaming

For Verstappen, however, this does not cause him to hover. Of course, it's the first time in F1 that Verstappen has been in a position to compete for the world title, but that doesn't faze him. He says to Motorsport.com that he doesn't want to dream and that he and his team just need to continue on the same path.

''Dreaming doesn't get me anywhere, I'd rather be realistic. I focus on the race weekend ahead. And of course, I'm not stupid, I know you can't make mistakes in such a close title race. But I don't want to put unnecessary pressure on people in the team. We know what we have to do, but there's no point in discussing it all the time. I'd rather focus on this weekend instead of hyping things up already,'' said Verstappen.
