After the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix the Mercedes camp were mainly talking about the crash between George Russell and Valtteri Bottas. According to Ralf Schumacher, however, the Finn should be worrying about something else entirely.

Russell and Bottas crashed out of the Grand Prix together in Imola, after a daring overtaking action by Russell. Afterwards it was mainly about the action and the question if it was Bottas' or Russell's fault that the gentlemen had crashed, but according to Ralf Schumacher there is more to it. Namely, what was Bottas doing near a Williams?'

What was Bottas doing there?

''Bottas is not someone who is going to play games at 300 km/h, but of course he didn't want to let Russell pass just like that either. However, I was not happy with his attitude after the race,'' Schumacher said in his column for Sky Germany. Bottas was angry with Russell, but according to Ralf he should have been angry with himself.

''He has to ask himself why he had to defend himself against a Williams. So many times he has driven at the same level as Lewis, but at the other moment he is very far from it. At Mercedes they try to explain it with a lack of grip at the back of Bottas's car, but for me the complete Valtteri Bottas package had no grip. He needs to show more quickly, or he will be pushed aside quickly,'' the German concluded.
