During his first race in Formula 1, Yuki Tsunoda made a pretty good impression, but in Imola it was completely different. The Japanese driver was criticised for his drive by his boss Helmut Marko.

Where in Bahrain Tsunoda showed everyone how fast he was, in Imola we got to see the flip side of his talent. He was cursing during practice, flew off in the first qualifying session, and in the race, once he had climbed back into the points positions, he went off again.

Mistakes by Tsunoda

''Yuki had a fast car, which would definitely have been good enough for Q3 on Saturday,'' Marko is clear in his words to ServusTV. ''It was just a very stupid mistake and you can't make that smaller than it already is. I spoke to Yuki after the race and he definitely regretted it too.''

According to Marko, Tsunoda was too eager to prove himself during qualifying. ''He had very fast sector times on the first lap, but setting a great time on your first lap doesn't help at all. He was just too eager'', concluded the Austrian.
