Verstappen critical of himself: 'Haven't had such a bad lap in ages'.

Max Verstappen made a rare mistake during his final lap in Q3. It was a mistake that cost him dearly, as he lost not only pole position, but also second place. On a track like Imola, where it is difficult to overtake, this could also cost him victory.
At the press conference afterwards Verstappen was very critical of himself. He even says that he hasn't had such a bad qualifying session in a long time. He will now have to hope for the race that he can pass the two drivers in front of him on strategy.
There was nothing wrong with the RB16B
"The car felt fine in the third free practice. In qualifying, you then change tyres and amount of fuel and that actually went well, but during that last run in Q3, I just didn't have a good lap. I went off track in Turn 3 with two wheels. Honda makes good lawnmowers, but that's not what this car is for."
"At least I tried, but it was just a very messy lap. I haven't had that in a long time, so now we have to understand why that happened. We were very close though, so that's positive. As Checo [Perez] said, we're two cars close to Lewis and on different tyres, so hopefully that will bring some excitement tomorrow."
