Horner: "Bit naive to think that the rules will be changed after one race"

Aston Martin team principal Otmar Szafnauer has made no secret of the fact that he is no fan of the changes to the regulations for 2021, even going so far as to say that he thought the vote was unfair. Christian Horner expresses his surprise at Szafnauer's statements.
Prior to the Grand Prix weekend in Imola, Szafnauer said that he thinks the FIA should find out how things could have gone this far and that there should be a 'fair' solution. Ideally, he would like to see the changes to the floor completely reversed.
Horner surprised by Aston Martin protest
"I'm surprised to hear that," Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner responded to Sky Sports. "I am slightly surprised to hear that. I've heard rumblings but I haven't heard it like you've spelt it out. First of all, we heard a sample of one that Mercedes won that race with what you would classify with a low rake car. They had absolutely equal if not maybe better tyre deg than we had in Bahrain," said Horner.
He continued: "They've looked mighty impressive here and we've only run at one circuit, but ignoring all of that there is a process for regulations to be introduced and they were voted in unanimously. So, it seems a little naïve to think the rules are just going to get changed after a sample of just a single race after the processes are fully followed."
