FIA tightens rules on track limits after Verstappen and Hamilton incident
- GPblog.com
The FIA has announced that the regulations regarding the track limits will be tightened. This follows the storm of criticism that arose after the actions of the stewards during the Bahrain Grand Prix, which many considered inconsistent.
Race director Michael Masi has distributed notes ahead of the Grand Prix weekend in Imola. These notes include the track limits at turn 9, 13 and 15. The track limits are at turn 9, 13 and 15. The rules for the practice sessions remain the same, but the rules for the race have been tightened.
The notes clarify that a driver may not exceed the track limits, even during the race. If this happens the team gets a warning. The third time the driver will see a black and white flag as a warning. Any subsequent offence will be reported to the stewards, who will probably penalise the driver. This rule applies to all corners, so a driver cannot exceed the limit three times at each corner.
