Verstappen looking forward to Imola: "Last year we had a pretty good race there"
- GPblog.com
Racing on Italian soil is a bit of a thing for Max Verstappen. Last year the Dutchman dropped out of all races on Italian soil, not taking a single point from the Ferrari territory. Hopefully this year, with the RB16B, will be a different story.
RB16 or RB16B?
In an official press release from Red Bull Racing, Max is asked to point out the difference between the RB16 and the RB16B. According to the young Dutchman, this is not so easy: "I don't think you can compare both cars, because there are many different factors, such as the tyres and the changes to the aerodynamics."
Nevertheless, Verstappen is far from dissatisfied with the RB16B's performance so far: "The car is definitely handling well so far. We've also only been to one circuit so you have to try every weekend to find a good balance in the car, but everyone enjoys that challenge of Formula 1."
Curse?
Despite the curse that seems to rest on Max in Italy, he is not looking forward to going to Imola: "I go into the race weekend with a relaxed feeling, I am looking forward to going there again. Last year we had a pretty good race there until the tyre problem." As we've come to expect from the Dutchman, he doesn't venture a prediction: "It's too early before the start of the season to know how we're going to do, we have to wait and see what's going to happen on the track. I'm motivated to try and win every race, that desire comes from within."
