Mick Schumacher says he learned a lot during his first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Bahrain. The Formula 2 champion finished last, but knows the Haas VF-21 a lot better than before the race.

Loss of Downforce

It was not a flawless start to Schumacher's Formula 1 career, as he experienced a big spin just after the restart. However, this was part of his learning process during the race. "Things like how much downforce we lose at the start of the race. It’s like going from 100% downforce to 20% downforce the moment you’re turning into a corner," he is quoted by The Race.

The first Grand Prix did Schumacher good, as he can head to Imola with a lot more confidence. "I feel I have a lot more knowledge, a lot more comfort, but I was also really surprised at how quickly the weekend was over," concludes the son of Michael Schumacher.

Mazepin had poor debut

Schumacher's first Grand Prix weekend was a lot better than that of teammate Nikita Mazepin. The debut of the young Russian ended after three corners in the tire pile. However, he also says he learned a lot during his first weekend in Formula 1.
