Lewis Hamilton took the win just in front of Max Verstappen. He was a close second, but the Briton took the win in the opening race. Verstappen was disappointed about that.

Verstappen overtook the Briton a few laps before the end. According to the race committee, this was done in an illegal way. Because of this, he had to give up his spot. Hamilton then managed to hold on to the lead and took the win.

Which driver is not important

Motorsport.com held an interview with Verstappen. There, the question came up whether Verstappen ever wants to beat Hamilton again and thus be able to stop him. "Well not really, for me in the end it is not so important which drivers you fight with. There are more good drivers in Formula 1. Of course, some have won more titles than others, but if you look at all the years, there are many more good drivers than just the world champions."

So Verstappen doesn't care which drivers battle it out with for the world title. Meanwhile, it looks like a close battle for the world title is brewing. Hamilton has already indicated he is happy with that.
