At the beginning of this year Stefano Domenicali was appointed CEO of Formula 1. He has a lot of ideas about the highest racing class but has taken some time to reflect on his first few months in the job.

On Formula1.com he explained how he met with the drivers to discuss a variety of subjects within the sport.

"On Thursday night, before the start of testing in Bahrain, I met with the drivers to discuss a number of issues. We had a constructive meeting and agreed to keep our conversations private and among ourselves," he said.

Voice of the drivers

Those drivers, therefore, have an important voice. "It was important to share the start of this new journey together. As we have always said, the drivers are very important for F1. That's why we always need to keep them informed. They have an active voice on what we need to share for the future of Formula One."

Domenicali is no stranger to the Formula One world. The Italian worked for Ferrari for a long time. Between 2007 and 2014 he was team boss at the Italian racing stable. In it, he won a constructors' title once and was close to the world title three times with Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso.
