On RTLGP's Slipstream the track limits and the lack of clarity from the race direction are the topic of discussion today. Former Bridgestone tire specialist Kees van de Grint is very clear in his dislike of the whole situation. According to him the stewards are absolutely not consistent.

"Actually, it's not unclear, but there is manipulation," said Van de Grint referring to the notion that the FIA has a completely different outcome for more or less the same offence. "That's very annoying, but that's not the first time. One time it's one way, the other time it's the other. It's ridiculous."

Hamilton benefited too

Van de Grint is no fan of tarmac run-off lanes and therefore doesn't mind Hamilton using them. They should just put a gravel pit or something like that there. However, he does think you should be allowed to drive over that run-off lane in every situation.

"I have no problem with it. There is asphalt and you can drive on it. After this happened I don't know how many times, they say 'if you do it again, maybe you will get a penalty'. And Verstappen does it once [and immediately gets a penalty]. Then you can say he had a big advantage, but Hamilton also had an advantage. It's very weird how things go. I personally would have kept on driving, then they could have fought it out behind the scenes afterwards," said the former Bridgestone tyre specialist.
