For Red Bull Racing, the start of the 2021 season seems to have started better than ever, at least in the hybrid era. The car is reliable and fast.
The new budget cap has forced the three top teams in particular to make substantial cutbacks. Red Bull Racing saw a lot of people leave. Something he said earlier this week that hurt him. Some of these people have been transferred to other Red Bull projects, but not all of them.
Horner and Honda look set to deliver
By contrast, what's happening on the track could be described as a success story. Horner has been cautious with his predictions, unlike last season, but this time he and Honda do seem to be delivering on the promises. He therefore does not forget to compliment the Japanese.
"Honda have done a great job in the off-season with a very ambitious programme, ahead of all the developments planned for 2022, as they exit F1 at the end of this season. They have done a fantastic job," Horner told Sky Italia.
