For Mick Schumacher, next season will be extra special. The reigning Formula 2 champion will make his F1 debut this year with the American team Haas and follows in his father's footsteps, Michael Schumacher. Some of his father's competitors are still driving in Formula 1 and Mick is looking forward to the upcoming duels.

"Actually, it's pretty funny to think about. I think it shows that they've been in this sport for a very long time and they've been hugely successful. We'll see how it's going to be on the track. I haven't driven with everyone on the track yet during the test days, Schumacher explained at the press conference of formula 1.

Good relationship with Raikkonen

Friday morning will be the first time that all twenty drivers will be on the track. "It has taken long enough though. I'm extremely happy to be here and that we start tomorrow. The most important thing will be to learn from the first test and use that for this weekend". Schumacher has also learnt a lot from former colleagues of his father, such as Kimi Raikkonen.

The Finn has experienced all of Schumacher's successes at close quarters and is the only Ferrari driver since Schumacher to win the title. Mick therefore expects Raikkonen to play a role in his debut year. "I know Kimi pretty well and he has always been very nice. Or course I will get some tips from him", Schumacher concluded.
