Red Bull Racing has rarely started as well as it did in 2021. The team drove enough laps, was fast and the car looked stable. It's been different for Helmut Marko's stable.

The RB16B is said to be an upgrade of the RB16, and at first glance there seems little new in the new car of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. The car seems to be stuck to the asphalt though. Whereas Red Bull Racing have been lagging throughout the season in previous years, the Austrian team are now ahead for once.

Marko happy with Red Bull's start

''We know that from the past. You are then behind until the middle of the season, and only in the last part you can recover. Of course it's better that the car runs immediately and is also competitive right away,'' Helmut Marko said to Motorsport-magazin.com.

However, according to Marko, Red Bull do not need to make any more major upgrades until the first race, because unlike in recent years, the RB16B ran like a breeze straight away.

''This is the first time we've come to the test with a fully developed car and it looks like it's competitive. You need that if you want to compete for the world title,'' concludes the Austrian.
