This Saturday is a special day for Sergio Perez. After years of driving for midfield teams, he will now make his debut at Red Bull Racing. Here he should be able to fight for wins on a regular basis. Has the team also welcomed him as such a driver?

"The team has been very nice to me," he told Ziggo Sports. "Everyone, all the engineers, all the mechanics and Max too. Helmut, Christian, everyone has welcomed me with open arms." So he doesn't feel like he was brought in as a second driver, asks Jack Plooij. "No, that's absolutely not the feeling I get. It feels good as a driver to have that confidence."

Second flawless test day for Red Bull?

Perez hopes that he has a test day just as flawless as the one Max Verstappen had yesterday. He completed the most test laps of all. The weather conditions are much better on Saturday. No sandstorm and the wind has died down a little.

"With the limited time, we can drive now because one and a half days is really very little. It's crucial for me to get used to the car as quickly as possible. To find the last three tenths, you need a bit more time. But there are many drivers who have changed teams, they have the same problem," Perez said.
