Nico Hülkenberg was a reserve driver a few times last season for Aston Martin and will have to settle for a bench role again this year. There was some talk of a seat at Red Bull, but that did not materialise. Hülkenberg himself would have liked to be at Red Bull, he was quoted by Motorsport-total.com.

Hülkenberg will not only act as a reserve driver for Aston Martin (and perhaps Mercedes) next season, but will also work for Red Bull television channel ServusTV as a TV Expert. The German has since had a media round about this, in which, according to Motorsport-total.com, he mentioned that he would have liked to work for Red Bull.

"When it turned out that I wasn't in the car, everything took shape. Of course I would have liked to be part of the Red Bull, there is no doubt about that, but that is not in question at the moment."

Hulkenberg still set to be busy

Red Bull Racing have chosen Perez for next season. Hülkenberg, for his part, will be busy next season if all goes according to plan. He will not only be presenting at ServusTV, but will also work as a reserve driver for Aston Martin and Mercedes if things go his way.
