The morning session of the winter test in Bahrain is over for the Formula 2 field. All 22 drivers were in action during the first three hours, but the fastest was Dan Ticktum.
Formula 2 starts its season in Bahrain when Formula 1 also starts the new season. Later this week, F1 will also be in action for a test in Bahrain, but first it is the turn of the feeder class.

Richard Verschoor (38 laps) and Lirim Zendeli (35 laps) covered the most distance during the first session of the week. The two drivers from MP Motorsport weren't the front runners in terms of time however, as Zendeli managed to set a best of the fourth fastest time. Formula 3 champion Oscar Piastri drive as much, completing just eight laps, while teammate Robert Shwartzman did even less with seven.
At the top of the first timesheet of this season was Dan Ticktum. A familiar face in this class, after his debut last season. Behind him is Liam Lawson, the Red Bull talent who made the switch after just one year in Formula 3. Jehan Daruvala completed the top three.
