Romain Grosjean thinks it will be difficult for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen to beat Lewis Hamilton's superior Mercedes. The Frenchman has seen Hamilton dominate the championship for the last four years and in 2021 the now seven-time world champion will be back in contention for the title, Grosjean believes.

"I put my money on an eighth title for Lewis this year," Grosjean said in an interview with Formule 1 Magazine and others. The 34-year old driver believes that the Formula 1 championship is actually too monotonous. For that reason, Grosjean will also drive in IndyCar from next season. "In Indycar you all have the same material, basically. Formula 1 is different."

Grosjean reunites with Fittipaldi

Grosjean will race for the Dale Coyne team in 2021. There he will be joined by Pietro Fittipaldi, Haas F1's Brazilian test and reserve driver. Fittipaldi will be responsible for the oval races. Grosjean has indicated he does not want to do so following his huge crash in Bahrain last season.

In recent seasons, Grosjean was unable to compete for podiums. In IndyCar, Grosjean has more of a chance there, although it will also be a considerable struggle in the United States. Teams like Penske or Ganassi are a bit bigger and have more resources. However, set-up is extremely important and that is where Grosjean can make his mark with Dale Coyne.
