Russell satisfied: "It’s now down to see how our competitors get on"

The FW43-B was unveiled on Friday afternoon and George Russell is very excited about the car with which he wants to aim for a top ten finish this year. The British driver says he is looking forward to the 2021 season and is hopeful about Williams' chances.
Finding the way back
While internet reaction to Williams' new livery still varies widely, Russell hopes the team has made a good step. In 2021, the Grove-based team should be scoring World Championship points again.
"I think we’re very hopeful we can continue to go forward. The car is definitely a step in the right direction. Whether it’s enough, who knows? It all depends on our competitors really. I think the team has done a great job, but until we drive that Saturday evening in Bahrain for qualifying I don’t think anybody is going to know", Russell said in a conversation with Sky Sports.
Big jump for Ferrari teams
Williams' big rivals in 2020 were Haas and Alfa Romeo. Both teams drive Ferrari engines. "Obviously the Ferrari engine was of the pace last year and I think they’ll be making a good step forward. We need to make double that step to stay on the same page as them. It’s now down to see how our competitors get on. I still think we’ll make a step forward in the right direction", the talented driver concluded.
