Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will form Red Bull Racing's new line-up next season. With Perez's experience and Verstappen's leadership, Red Bull has the ideal duo to attack Mercedes next season. In the Red Bull podcast, The Talking Bull, the two new teammates talk about the winter break and look ahead to the RB16B.
"I really spent some time with my family and went on holiday. Because of the COVID measures, I couldn't see them during the season. They also had some babies so I had to visit. It was nice to catch up again. Then I went to Brazil for a vacation. That was also very nice. Then I started training again for the new season," explained the Dutchman.
Perez sees potential
Perez also spent some time with the family and as a father, it was much needed. "I finally had some time with the family and the children. Luckily I slept well, my youngest daughter is now just over one year old and luckily she sleeps well." After many sleepless nights, Perez was able to enjoy his winter break.
Red Bull's two drivers have already had a chance to test the RB16B at Silverstone. Perez was very enthusiastic about his new car. "The car has potential. We now have a lot of work to do to make sure the setup is as good as possible for the first race. It will be a very short introduction before we race in Bahrain."
Verstappen looking forward to Bahrain
Verstappen is especially looking forward to the Friday before the Bahrain Grand Prix and can't wait for the lights to go out on Sunday. "We don't really have many test days indeed. I always get excited when the race weekend starts. During testing I am always bored to death. Of course it's always nice to drive an F1 car," Verstappen said.
