Ferrari: "Formula 1 puts an incredible amount of money into secrets".

Piero Ferrari believes that Formula 1 invests far too much money in technology only to keep it secret from the world and especially from the other teams.
According to Ferrari, Formula 1 is no longer the sport it once was, but more of a showdown that entertains the public less. The reason for this is that the various teams spend an awful lot of money to have superior technology, but then try to keep it as secret as possible.
"Formula 1 has to go back to providing a show for the fans," he commented to Motorsport.com.
"Now we have faster loners with advanced technology that nobody knows about because some of the ideas are patented. We spend an awful lot of money and then we try to keep it secret. Can you explain to me what the point of that is?"
Formula 1 currently lacks its essence according to Ferrari
"We drive the fastest single-seaters in history, but the images that pass by on TV fail to show the thrill of it that you experience on the track."
