Max Verstappen hopes to finally compete for the world title in 2021. To do so, his team Red Bull Racing will have to take an important step forward, but the Dutchman is also looking at himself.

Verstappen will start his seventh season in Formula 1 in 2021 and already has 10 victories to his name. Many are still convinced that in a better car he would also be competing for the world title. Red Bull Racing and Honda, however, need to make a move towards Mercedes for this to happen.

Verstappen demands more

''Last year we lacked power and grip. And Mercedes stopped developing the 2020 car early on. It is never good enough. Not even for myself'', says Verstappen according to De Telegraaf. The Red Bull driver looks critically at his own performance and suggests what needs to be better next year.

''Every year it has to be better. Better qualifying, more constant in races, better handling of the tyres, finding a better set-up for the car. That is a natural process. Let's hope we can make it a success this year. That is the goal. I don't think too much about the future, or what Lewis might do," Verstappen concludes.
