In less than a month the Formula 1 circus will leave for its first race. The teams are doing everything they can from the start to get the best possible start. Preparation is crucial. Today Mercedes announced it has problems in this phase.

Hywel Thomas, Mercedes engine chief, said the following in a video seen by Motorsport.com. "“We have got some issues with the power units. We know we have issues but we have plenty of plans in place to fix all of those issues. I'm sure it will all be ready for the first race.

Not for the first time

It is not the first time the German marque has experienced problems ahead of a new season. Last year, engine chief Andy Cowell said not everything was in order. So for Mercedes, it seems nothing new.

Eventually, they got the problems under control in time. At the start, in July they had no more problems. Hamilton managed to prolong his title at the end of the season.
