Internet responds to Hamilton's Mercedes contract: "A smart move by Toto"
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes announced on Monday that they will continue together in 2021. That is of course not a big surprise, but the news still stirs up a lot on the internet. There is much speculation about the future of Hamilton and some other drivers.
First of all, many people are relieved that the rumour mill is now ending. The season can begin!
Fucking eindelijk van dit gezeik af

Deze week lijkt op het gebied van sportnieuws al beter dan die van vorige week. https://t.co/lcj1Jpv27j
Toto Wolff has plans?
The regular Formula 1 journalists mainly wonder what exactly this contract means for the future. The door to Mercedes is still open for Verstappen and what plans does that cunning Toto Wolff have?
De vrienden uit Stuttgart hebben dus écht geen trek in dat veto. En terecht. #F1 #Hamilton pic.twitter.com/26IbpUckC4

Just the one year for Hamilton then...

Could this be his final hurrah?
8 titles and bow out as the greatest ever?
Seems likely.
Lewis & Mercedes agree a new deal but it’s only for 1 year Which means that the contracts for both Lewis & Valtteri run out at the end of this season as does George’s at Williams. 3 drivers chasing 2 seats at Merc & all out of contract. You could argue that’s a smart move by Toto

Is it still legal if he doesn't use his full name? #SirLewisHamilton #f1 https://t.co/O3JLWYhd0H

Under the tweet of the announcement of the official Formula 1 channel, people are also happy that there is now finally clarity, but there are also the necessary negative reactions. Many people think that Hamilton makes a lot of money, especially because George Russell is available. They are also afraid that Hamilton could dominate the coming season again.
That's a shame, here's to Bormula 1 2021. At least we have Aston Martin and Mick Schumacher at Haas to keep just enough excitement for 2021.
