Hamilton's ninth Year with Mercedes. Who else lasted so long at one team?
Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes can hardly be separated from each other anymore. The Briton has never even raced in Formula 1 with any other engine manufacturer. In that respect, he is the absolute record holder, but his commitment to the Mercedes factory team has also been around for many years now.
By signing a contract for the 2021 season, Hamilton is entering his ninth year as a Mercedes driver. He is now on a par with some icons from the past in other teams.
Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard, for example, who each drove for McLaren for nine years, many of them together. At the end of the nineties, they, therefore, formed an inseparable duo. Hamilton only has to put up with one man in this list and that is Michael Schumacher.
