Next week Red Bull Racing will be told whether their hopes to freeze engine development will go ahead. On February 11, the Formula One Commission will vote on the matter, which is crucial to the team's future.
Domenicali hopes teams will vote for engine development freeze
The new Formula One CEO, Stefano Domenicali, hopes the teams will vote for the plan. "The anticipation for the engine development freeze is a very important point, not only for Red Bull," Domenicali told Motorsport.com.
He continued: "In fact, the regulations and the freeze are based on 2023, and we are hoping for a freeze so that we can save money. This will allow the manufacturers and teams to invest in their new engine."
"That is a priority for most manufacturers. The discussions taking place are going in the right direction, and I'm sure everyone understands the importance of this matter," Domenicali said.
