One of the interesting switches for the 2021 Formula One season is Daniel Ricciardo's move from Renault (now Alpine) to McLaren. McLaren is also active in other racing classes, including IndyCar and Le Mans. Does Ricciardo fancy competing for the team in one of those classes?

Fernando Alonso, who has driven for Mclaren in both Formula 1 and IndyCar, will return to Renault in 2021, which from now on will go through life as Alpine.

IndyCar and Le Mans

Regarding Alonso's Indy 500 performance and whether he saw himself doing so, Ricciardo had this to say, according to Speedweek.com: "That sounds great, but I find ovals a bit scary. I thought Fernando's performance was impressive and imagined how I would do there... Maybe one day I'll really try it."

He then jokes, "All you have to do is turn left four times a lap, how hard can that be?"

A participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans may be more likely for Ricciardo. "Some colleagues have already tried that, and the idea that you share a car with teammates appeals to me. In Le Mans you have to share all the secrets with your colleagues, such a collaboration seems great," said Ricciardo.
