During the shortened sixth stage of the Dakar Rally the fastest participants were still almost four hours away. It was also a stage in which we saw different faces back at the front of the field. Participants who lost a lot of time in the previous days now made up for a lot.

One of them is Juan Barreda Bort. Honda's Spanish motorcyclist won his third stage of the rally and his 27th stage of his career. However, due to a few bad days, he could only reach seventh place in the general classification. This inconstancy is typical of Barreda, who, despite many victories, at the end of the rally, has never been on the podium.

It was not a dominant victory for Barreda today. After three hours and 45 minutes he was only thirteen seconds ahead of Ross Branch. The Kalahari Ferrari therefore remains a serious contender for the final victory. Classification leader Toby Price finished seventh today at almost four minutes in front. He thus retains the lead in the intermediate standings.
