Leclerc learns from crash with Verstappen: 'Must learn to choose fights'

It may not have been the best season in Formula 1 for Charles Leclerc. Ferrari did not have deliver the car the drivers had hoped for, but the Monegasque could have performed better here and there.
In 2019 Leclerc made a spectacular debut at Ferrari, only in his second year in Formula 1. He won two races, claimed pole seven times and was on the podium ten times. In 2020 that was a lot less. Mostly due to the inferior Ferrari, but Leclerc himself also made some mistakes at various times.
Leclerc's mistakes
''It has been an exhausting year, but I am satisfied. On a personal level I have grown a lot and it has also been a good year. I am very happy with my own achievements. I've taken a lot of risk this year, but often it turned out well and if you look at the final score, there wasn't much more I could have done," says Leclerc to Formula1.com.
''I've done well in a lot of races in the first round and that gave me a lot of points. But sometimes things don't go the way I want them to. For example in Sakhir and Austria, but in the end I scored a lot. I will try to choose these battles better, because winning a spot on Max Verstappen (in Sakhir) would not have put us in a better position, because Max is still faster than us. But that is in the past and I will learn from it," the Ferrari driver concludes.
