Last season the Williams F1 team said goodbye to the Williams family. The team now has a new CEO and team principal.

It has been an eventful week for Williams. Earlier this week it came out that Frank Williams, the previous owner and founder of the team, has been hospitalized. In addition, the new leadership that will bring Williams back up in Formula 1 has now been announced.

Through Twitter Williams has announced that Jost Capito is the new CEO of Williams. Capito was previously the CEO of McLaren for five months, until Zak Brown joined the team. So now the German can lead another historic Formula 1 team.

Now officially the team principal

Williams has also confirmed that Simon Roberts will officially be Williams' team boss. The former Operations Chief of McLaren had already been appointed interim team boss when Claire Williams said goodbye earlier this year. So Roberts will be able to stay at his post and lead one of the oldest Formula 1 teams this season. That will be quite a challenge, as the team has not scored a single point this season.
