Norris excited with P4 in qualifying: "Great achievement"

Lando Norris is very pleased with his performance in qualifying at the season ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, securing a very strong fourth place. Even better than the position was the gap to pole, just two-tenths of a second.

Norris has had a very good second season in F1, scoring 87 points so far. The young Brit still has a realistic chance of finishing fifth in the drivers' standings, if other results go his way.

After the session, he told Sky Sports: "Fourth is a great achievement for us. I don't think fourth is the achievement, I think two tenths of pole is the achievement today.

"A bit of a surprise because we have not been within a second all weekend and as you come into qualifying the car is really hooked up and comes alive. There is a lot for us to understand how and why this has happened.

"I don't think we can rule anything out. Perez came from the back and won the race last week and he often comes from the back and ends on the podium. So, it's not like we can relax and be happy with this. We still have a big job tomorrow."
