Daniel Ricciardo was left disappointed as he failed to make it out of Q2 at the season ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Australian driver is moving to McLaren for 2021, so this is his last event for the Renault team he has spent two seasons with.

Ricciardo has had a strong season, scoring two podiums along with several other strong finishes, and he looks set to finish in the top five in the drivers' standings.

However, his performance in qualifying at Yas Marina was not a classic Ricciardo performance, and after the session he told Sky Sports: "It was a strange one, we didn't really have the pace but we had it a few hours ago in practice. For sure the track changes a bit and you kind of expect to be closer in qualifying to competitors. I don't like being 12th. We will try and make something happen tomorrow.

"I don't like to be the grumpy pants. I wanted to do better for the team. I will try to do what the others did last week and come back onto the podium."
