Mick Schumacher has been confirmed at the 2020 Formula 2 title after a dramatic race in Sakhir. Schumacher himself had a poor race and finished down in 18th, but rival Callum Ilott was unable to score the points required to take the title.

At the beginning of the 2020 season in Formula 2, Schumacher had a very bad start. His first podium was in Hungary and his first victory was in Monza, when he won the Feature Race. Since then, the German is the man in form and he took over the lead from Ilott. He didn't give up and the 14 point lead he had before the sprint race was enough to win the title.

The Formula 2 sprint race was incredibly exciting, and for much of the race it was questionable whether Mick Schumacher would be able to win the world title. He suffered damage to one of his tyres on the first lap, which meant he had to make a pit stop and dropped back down the field.

Next year at Haas

Next year Schumacher will be driving with Haas and he will have eyes on a move to Ferrari in the long term. They are looking forward to his arrival there, as Michael Schumacher's son is hugely popular with the Italians. Now that his F2 season is finished, the German is focusing on his commitments at Haas, where he will already be making the first steps for the American team in the Abu Dhabi post season test.
