After the Bahrain Grand Prix, Alexander Albon took the podium for the second time in this season. Where he was previously robbed of that podium in Brazil and Austria by bad luck, he was now lucky enough to be on his side. Sergio Perez was forced to retire with just a few laps remaining.

The question now is whether Albon has done enough with this achievement to keep his seat for 2021. Opinions on this are divided. Max Verstappen was not very impressed after the race, but Robert Doornbos gives the Thai driver, the benefit of the doubt on Crash in the Kitchen on Ziggo Sport.

Doornbos thinks that another podium is definitely enough.

"Exactly what he [Verstappen] says there, that you still lose more than a second per lap...," according to Doornbos, Verstappen does have a point there, but still he doesn't think that this will be decisive in the team's choice for a second driver next season.

"On the other hand you have Helmut Marko who has always said 'I hope Alex wants to retain his own job with us'. He's just wishes to give him it. When he is back on the podium next weekend, Albon will have that seat. In spite of the fact that he has a dramatic season and can't play a role for Max."
