Jos Verstappen, former Formula 1 driver and of course father of Max Verstappen, seems to be getting closer and closer to a comeback in motorsport. Lately he has been spotted behind the wheel more and more often and this week he was hit again.

Just fun

Last week Verstappen was seen in a Porsche GT3 and as a result the rumour mill immediately went full steam ahead. Verstappen senior let it be known that he was interested in a comeback. "It's just fun. I have been approached for this project and the first impressions are good. Max is settled in Formula 1, so I don't have to be there all the time. So I have a bit more time to get involved in other things," Jos said.

Today Verstappen posted another photo on his Instagram on which he drives in a Ligier LMP3 around the circuit of Portimao"I'm going to test a bit this winter," he told Formule 1 Magazine. "I haven't said I'm going to race again," Verstappen emphasised. "But it could be just like that. I think it would be fun."

Battle with Max

In any case, Jos does not have the illusion of being able to fight his son. "Of course I can't match Max. I don't like sprint races anymore, but a bit of competition can't hurt. That’s still in me."
