Toto Wolff believes that it is possible for Mercedes to have two alpha males on the team. A precondition for this is that the talking is done on the circuit and not outside it. Is Max Verstappen therefore not an option for the world champions?

"I think if you have a dynamic between two drivers where the talking happens on the track [then] I think you can have two alpha males," Wolff is quoted by Racefans.net

According to Wolff, two alpha males are indeed an option for Mercedes, but the arrival of Max Verstappen is nevertheless out of the question. In the official Formula 1 podcast a few eeks ago, the 48-year old Austrian indicated that a Hamilton-Verstappen duo 'was not an option'. So probably Verstappen is a bit too outspoken next to the track.

Satisfaction with Bottas

"The combination works well," says Wolff about his current drivers. "When Lewis has a bad day, Valtteri pulls it off and the other way around. Valtteri had a really bad day [in Turkey] and Lewis won the race. And I think this combination really works well for the team."
