Vettel looks back on his debut: 'I haven't made much progress'

In an interview with Ted Kravitz, Sebastian Vettel has been reflecting on an interview fourteen years ago. The young Seb was only nineteen years old at the time and was going to get into a BMW car.
At 19 years and 53 days old, Vettel is the youngest driver ever to take part in a Formula 1 session. As a test driver of BMW Sauber, Vettel was driving the first free practice session of the Turkish Grand Prix. The German driver topped the first timesheet and made a direct impression on the rest of the world. However, he had to wait another year for his real Formula 1 debut.
Vettel looks back
In Turkey, Vettel and Kravitz looked back on the interview they had before that weekend. The notorious finger also comes up again. Was it or was it not the reason for his triumph later in Formula 1? ''No, that was not the reason for my triumph, but let's not talk about that. My finger has healed by now," said Vettel on Sky Sports.
In retrospect, it is also about the sustainable future of Formula 1 and the world as a whole, and Vettel also pointed to his helmet for the weekend in Turkey. In this way he stands for more equality, where for so many people in the world this is not yet the case. "I have not really made much progress since then, because I am still here with you," concluded the Ferrari driver.
