Villeneuve is surprised: 'This has nothing to do with happiness'

Lance Stroll surprised friend and foe on Saturday with his pole for the Turkish Grand Prix. On Sunday things didn't go according to plan, but that doesn't make the performance on Saturday any less beautiful.
It is not the first time that Stroll shines in the rain. The Canadian has shown many times in one lap that he can conjure a lot out of his car in wet conditions and did the same at Istanbul Park. However, a man who has criticised him a lot in the past is now praising him.
Stroll surprises everyone
''Stroll drove an extraordinary lap and earned his pole. Unlike the other drivers, he didn't make any mistakes. Therefore, I do not know what to criticize here. This has nothing to do with luck, this was talent. Other drivers drove on the same tyre, but not so faultless," Jacques Villeneuve said to Sky.
The fact that precisely the great Canadian critic says this is a great compliment for Stroll. ''It is clear that he feels most comfortable when the circumstances are the most difficult," concludes Villeneuve. On Sunday, however, Stroll had bad luck with the strategy and did not manage to handle his tyres as well as Sergio Perez did.
