New updates for Verstappen: Red Bull seeks solution for restless rear end
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing will continue to develop this season's car until the end of 2020. Where Mercedes and other teams have already fully focused on 2021, Red Bull continues to find new things.
In an analysis by Motorsport.com it becomes clear that the team has made an adjustment to the so-called double wastegate. These small exhausts used to be located above the large Red Bull exhaust at the rear of the car, but are now being moved downwards. This should improve the balance at the rear.
New updates for Verstappen
Whereas previously the hot air from the exhaust was sent to the rear wing to generate more pressure, it now seems to be the goal to move this hot air more towards the diffuser. This can also be seen in the heat pictures that have now suddenly appeared on the diffuser, so that the hot air from the exhaust doesn't destroy the parts.
So where Red Bull used to choose to send this air to the rear wing, now the diffuser is made more important by Red Bull and probably has to make sure that the so restless rear end of the RB16 gets a bit more under control. An advantage for Max Verstappen, should this plan actually work out well.
