Sergio Perez was shocked for a moment when Max Verstappen wanted to line up for an overtaking action and spun. The view to the rear was not too good for the Racing Point driver. Moreover, the Mexican fought a nice fight with Charles Leclerc in the final phase at Istanbul Park and he was very pleased about that in the press conference.

When asked whether he experienced great moments during the Turkish Grand Prix, Perez answers: "Yeah, a little one; one with Max. I couldn’t see anything in my mirrors. My mirrors were full of fog. My engineer was telling me the gaps and so on. All of a sudden I saw Max running wide and he disappeared."

It was equally exciting with Leclerc. "I wasn’t aware that he was so close to me. So in the final lap it was a pretty good battle with him. He overtook me into Turn 9 and then I overtook him back into 11. It was a chaotic race but a strong result for us."

Perez avoids questions about the future

For the first time in years, Perez was back on the second highest step of the stage. He showed what he is capable of on Sunday, but he still doesn't have a contract for 2021. "Yeah, well, I think as always you have to be delivering weekend after weekend and you are only as good as your last race, so it’s important to finish on a high. The rest is not in my hands," he says.
