For Honda, the Turkish Grand Prix did not go at all as expected. With two cars in the top four and the best on paper for the victory, it seemed to be a beautiful Sunday, but in the end, the two drivers of Red Bull Racing had to settle for sixth and seventh place. According to Toyoharu Tanabe, there is an important factor that has made all the difference today.

"The Istanbul circuit has created difficult conditions, as it rained before the race and the low temperatures meant the track was never really dry," explains Tanabe in the review of Honda. "This makes tyre management crucial. It was quite disappointing that the Red Bull duo only managed to finish sixth and seventh, as we could see over the weekend that they had the speed to do better."

At AlphaTauri a lot harder

"At AlphaTauri the drivers had a much harder time. Especially Pierre Gasly, because he had to start from the back of the grid and because overtaking turned out to be difficult, he didn't manage to finish in the points. We now need to focus on the last three races of the season with the aim of finishing the year with some good results."

Finally, Tanabe also takes some time to congratulate Lewis Hamilton on winning his seventh world championship. "In the name of Honda, we congratulate Lewis Hamilton with his seventh title in the best possible way. He managed to win the race from sixth place and winning the title is a great achievement," concludes Tanabe.
