The Turkish Grand Prix is on the menu for next weekend. Daniel Ricciardo is hoping for a podium again but will mainly want to stay ahead of the competition. It is set to be an exciting end to the season between Renault, McLaren and Racing Point.

Ricciardo already knows the circuit in Turkey a little. The Australian drove a free practice session there in 2011, but it was raining at the time so the Renault driver considers it to be a new circuit: "I can't wait. It is a great circuit and will be pretty cool in a Formula 1 car. I think I can do well because overtaking is better than Imola."

Turn eight is seen as one of the most spectacular corners in the world and Ricciardo is looking forward to that: "Turn eight is going to be great, but so is the first turn. Downhill blind to the left."

First time for Ocon

Team mate Esteban Ocon will make his first appearance on the track in Istanbul: "It's a new track for me but I've seen all the races when I was young and it looks like an impressive track. I can still remember a great racing moment between Schumacher and Alonso in the last lap in 2006."

Ocon says in the preview of Renault: "Turn eight already looks impressive in the older Formula 1 cars and I think this has only gotten better. I can't wait." Renault is currently third in the constructors' championship with just one point ahead of both McLaren and Racing Point.
