Toto Wolff hopes that the organisation of a Grand Prix will have a positive effect on Saudi Arabia. The boss of Lewis Hamilton of Valtteri Bottas hopes that the world can become a better place and he is confident that Formula 1 can contribute to that.

The Mercedes team boss himself was present in Saudi Arabia last year when a Formula E weekend was organised in the city of Diriyah. He certainly did not have any negative feelings left over from his visit.

Wolff only saw positive things

"As a visitor, you never know how things are going. But what I saw for myself, and that's all I can say about it, was a great event without segregation, where men and women enjoyed the sporting event. We have to start somewhere. What I have seen is that it started somewhere and I believe that we have to do everything we can to make the world a better place," says the Austrian.

"We saw that there was a positive discussion around F1 because we are racing all over the world," Wolff said in conversation with Motorsport.com.
