Tsunoda makes an impression on his debut for AlphaTauri: 'That was impressive'

On Wednesday, Yuki Tsunoda drove AlphaTauri's Formula 1 car for the first time and made a positive impression. Afterwards, Franz Tost was very enthusiastic about his possible future driver.
Tsunoda is active in Formula 2 this year and is still fighting for the title there. The Japanese driver needs a fourth place to get his super license and gets all the help he needs from Red Bull. Tsunoda was, therefore, able to test for AlphaTauri on Wednesday and did not disappoint, Tost said.
Tsunoda impresses
''Yuki was immediately familiar with the car and once it got dry, he also managed to improve his times very quickly. That was quite impressive. After lunch, we put new tyres under it and he went even faster, which only showed that he had more confidence in the car every lap," says Tost according to Motorsportweek.com.
The Japanese also did an excellent job outside the car, according to the Austrian. ''Yuki gave valuable feedback on the behaviour of the car and that is in line with what we expect from him. In his last stint, he did a race simulation and was very constant. That's when it really became clear that he has it under control''. Tsunoda is expected to make his appearance in a free practice session soon and be announced as a driver before 2021, provided he obtains his super license.
