Sebastian Vettel is spending his last days at Ferrari, where things seem to be getting worse. However, the German himself believes that it is not his fault and he is receiving support from unexpected quarters.

Vettel will leave Ferrari at the end of 2020 and has found a spot at Racing Point, which will continue as Aston Martin from 2021. However, the German was not happy with the way he was treated by Ferrari and this is reflected in his results. He lacks confidence and is falling further and further behind Charles Leclerc.

Drama for Vettel

In Imola, it seemed to go a bit better during the race, but a pit stop of more than ten seconds put an end to the chance of points. ''The race went very well for him and he won a lot of places. However, it's a mix of a number of things. Every driver needs confidence in his car and I think Vettel is a bit done with that. After Imola he might be able to get the positive out of it," says Bernd Mayländer to Sport1.de.

The driver who gets into the Mercedes Safety Car every weekend spoke to Vettel after the race, who himself was a lot more positive. ''He saw a slight improvement himself, but he also knows that he can't influence what happens during such a race," concludes Mayländer. Vettel finished twelfth in the pit stop drama.
