Doornbos rules out Verstappen replacing Hamilton if Brit was to retire

Lewis Hamilton caused some commotion after the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Was the six time World Champion joking or is he really thinking of retiring at the end of 2020 and leaving Formula 1 behind?
With his victory and second place for Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes secured a seventh Constructors' Championship in a row. A unique achievement, breaking Ferrari's record. The record of Michael Schumacher's titles still stands but could be broken by Hamilton in 2021.
Hamilton's future in doubt
Hamilton had some interesting words after the recent race at Imola bringing slight doubt to his future in F1.
"I'm going to throw a bomb. He equals titles at the end of this year and is of course already the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), but maybe one more year. That's entirely up to him,'' said Robert Doornbos on Crashen in the Keuken.
The former Formula 1 driver and presenter, Rob Kamphues, also speculated on possible replacements: ''Then they put George Russell in until Max Verstappen can make the switch," said Kamphues. ''Next year Max won't be able to do it yet," concluded Doornbos.
