OFFICIAL: Giovinazzi drives in 2021 for Alfa Romeo next to Raikkonen

Antonio Giovinazzi will drive in Formula 1 for Alfa Romeo in 2021. Kimi Raikkonen will also remain active in the pinnacle of motorsport for an additional season.
For a long time, it seemed highly uncertain that we would see Raikkonen and Giovinazzi again next season. The 41-year-old Finn seems to be at the end of his career, while Giovinazzi gets another year to convince he is good enough.
The contracts of both men are said to have been extended by one year. This allows Alfa Romeo to re-enter the driver market before 2022. For now, people are very satisfied: "I am very happy that our team will be able to work with Kimi and Antonio for another year," Frederic Vasseur said in a brief statement through his employer's official channels.
No Schumacher at Alfa Romeo
The name of Mick Schumacher sang around the Vasseur team for a long time, but in the end, the young German was not offered a contract. The leader of the Formula 2 championship will now focus all his arrows on Haas F1. That's where Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen will leave after the end of the season.
