Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll had very different Saturday afternoons. While Perez expressed his satisfaction afterwards, Stroll was quite dissatisfied with his afternoon session of the Portuguese Grand Prix weekend. The 21-year-old driver also briefly discussed the incident with Max Verstappen from the day before.

I mean, I’ve had better saterduys. It was not one of my best, just struggling with the car. I had trouble out there today," Stroll said in front of the Ziggo Sport camera in conversation with Jack Plooij. The young Canadian didn't survive Q2 and had to settle for 12th place.

Yesterday, Stroll didn't have such a fantastic day either, because then he crashed with Verstappen. “We’re all good. I mean it’s all history now. We’re all good," the Racing Point driver continues.

Perez very satisfied

Perez was fifth fastest at Portimao on Saturday afternoon. The Mexican is therefore a lot more satisfied than his teammate. "I think in those difficult condition today, it was good. It was a good performance for the team today. Yesterday we were so lost and we changed the car upside down," he explains to Sky Sports.

A lot of energy was put into bringing the tyres up to temperature. That paid off, resulting in a spot on the third row of the grid. "We did a pretty good job coming back and being there. It's a nice position to start the race."
