Rumours about a possible departure of Mercedes from Formula 1 have been circulating for some time, as has a possible sale of the team to private investors. However, the rumours now seem to have been definitively wiped off the table.

Today, at an investor and analyst conference, Mercedes presented its new business strategy, Auto Motor und Sport reports. It was announced that the company will continue to focus on Formula 1 and that cooperation between the racing team and the AMG sports car brand will be intensified.

Less focus on Mercedes

Concrete projects within this partnership have not yet been announced, but it is clear that the AMG logo will be given a much more prominent place on Formula 1 cars as of next season. This means that there will be less focus on the main Mercedes brand, similar to what Renault will do with Alpine next year.
